What we collect

When you create a HandyWrk account, our authentication provider collects your email address and a password (which they store as a hashed value — HandyWrk never sees or stores your password).

During onboarding and in Settings, you may provide:

  • Trade or role
  • Currency
  • Business location
  • Company name
  • Company logo
  • Contact phone and email
  • Business website URL
  • Default hourly rate and tax rate
  • Primary and accent brand colours for your quote PDFs

What we collect per quote

Each quote you build may include:

  • Client name
  • Client email (optional)
  • Job title and description
  • Job photos you upload
  • Materials list, quantities, and prices
  • Contractor notes
  • Estimated hours, hourly rate, and totals
  • The generated PDF quote

AI processing

To suggest materials, estimate labour hours, and fill in typical retail prices, HandyWrk sends your job photos, job description, notes, and materials data to a third-party AI provider. Our current provider is Google Gemini, accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway. This provider may change from time to time.

AI suggestions are a starting point only. You decide what appears in the final quote. We do not use client data to train AI models, and we do not sell or share client information for marketing purposes.

Payments

HandyWrk uses different payment processors depending on how you access the service. We do not receive or store raw payment card details on any platform.

Web and desktop users: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles payment processing and card storage directly, per its own privacy and security practices. HandyWrk keeps only your subscription status, selected plan, billing interval, current billing period, and Stripe identifiers.

iOS app users: Subscription payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system, managed via RevenueCat. Payment and card details are handled entirely by Apple, not by HandyWrk or RevenueCat directly. RevenueCat receives subscription status and purchase event data (not payment card information) so we can sync your subscription access across platforms.

To link a purchase to the correct HandyWrk account, we share account identifiers with Stripe and RevenueCat as needed. Neither processor receives your job or quote data, client information, or other app content beyond what is required for billing.

If you use HandyWrk on both web and iOS with the same account, your subscription status may be synced across those platforms, since both processors report to the same underlying subscription status system.

How we store your data

Your data is stored in a managed Postgres database and private file storage provided by our cloud infrastructure partner. Uploaded files — company logos, job photos, and generated PDFs — live in private buckets and are only accessible through short-lived signed links tied to your account.

Client data

Client names and emails entered into a quote are used only to create and share that specific quote. We do not use client data for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not share it outside the services required to run HandyWrk.

Cookies and analytics

HandyWrk uses only the storage necessary to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers today. If that changes, we will update this policy.

Emails

We send account-related emails such as confirmation and password-reset messages. We may also send quote-related emails when you choose to share a quote from the app.

Data retention and deletion

If you delete your account through Settings, we immediately cancel any active subscription and permanently delete your profile, quotes, line items, saved materials, uploaded photos, logos, generated PDFs, and authentication record. This deletion cannot be undone.
